When the generated power exceeds demand, the KM alarm output can trigger supplementary tasks such as increasing compressed air capacity or other energy storage methods. The KM1 and the KM50 offer assistance in identifying wasted energy, by classifying energy usage according to the machine status, whether it is operating, stand-by, or stopped. Classification is performed by programming threshold values within the KM device directly. Machines are often on stand-by mode when being cleaned. Notifying to the machine operators that some parts are still powered while not producing can save up to 15-20% energy per year.
