Ether CAT & SQL Combine into Omron's Powerful Automation Platform

Sysmac is Omron’s new concept of machine automation platform. This is the concept of integrate the entire machine or production cell from controller to software. The main principles of the Sysmac’s are: (1) Total machine automation with one controller, (2) Total machine automation with one integrated software, (3) Open communication & open programming standards with EtherCAT & SQL

Controller is the heart of machine automation platform. Sysmac controllers offer high speed, flexibility and scalability to the machine automation. It has the seamless integration over logic and motion. Sysmac Studio is the software for the total integration of factory automation. It will simplify the system design, setup & maintenance of the application. The machine controller has built-in EtherCAT & EtherNet/IP. EtherCAT will provide up to 256 synchronized axes & safety standard. It will also speed up the system with real time clock & 125μs cycle time. EtherNet will allow : (1) Peer to peer connection, (2) Sysmac Studio , NA HMI or SCADA software, (3) Database connection for Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, IBM DB2, MySQL and Firebird, (4) FTP Server ; Omron is the global “One stop solution” supplier for integrated system. And the Sysmac Automation Platform is to control motion, safety, vision, sensors and actuators with one controller, one software and one connection.
